– Bo Flowers, Walther Lutheran: The freshman went 8 for 15 in five games with three home runs, nine runs batted in and six runs scored while also striking out 10 in a 3-1 victory over Proviso East.
– Garrett Jones, Andrew: In two games he went 5 for 8 with two home runs, five RBIs and four runs scored to lead the third-ranked Thunderbolts.
– Ryan Liermann, Downers Grove South: In four games, the junior went 9 for 16 with four home runs and 21 RBIs, including 11 RBIs in a double-header against Reavis.
SOFTBALL
– Erin Mackey, St. Ignatius: The junior pitched a no-hitter, a one-hitter and had 54 strikeouts while going 4-1 for the week, including the Wolfpack’s first win over Mother McAuley.
– Krissi Rossi, Downers Grove North: The senior pitched a three-hit shutout over Greenville (Ill.) and a five-inning no-hitter against Rosary while striking out 23 in those games.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
– James Claney, Glenbrook North: In two matches, he had 17 kills and just four errors in 23 attempts and added eight aces, four assists and three solo blocks.
– Kevin Lorenz, Naperville Central: Totaled 93 kills, 41 digs, 21 blocks and five aces in six matches while helping the Redhawks win the Hoffman Estates tournament.
BADMINTON
– Jennie Ripoli, Andrew: The junior went 7-0 for the week with three victories in No. 1 singles and four victories in No. 1 doubles.
BOYS GYMNASTICS
– Mike McGhee, Hinsdale South: Won the all-around competition at Rich East tournament Friday and led his team to the title at the Rolling Meadows Invitational on Saturday.
BOYS INDOOR TRACK
– Ahmed Alghazali, Foreman: The senior won the 1,600-meter run in a time of 4:38.10 and ran in the winning 4×800 relay to lead Foreman to the team title at the Public League championships.
GIRLS INDOOR TRACK
– Chinelo Okafor, Young: The senior jumped 16 feet 2 1/2 inches to win the long jump, 33-3 1/2 to win the triple jump and ran the third leg of the first-place 4×400 relay to help Young win the team title at the Public League championships.
