Resurfacing of South Lake Shore Drive from Oakwood Boulevard to 57th Street will take place at night beginning June 2, with two lanes closed in each direction, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced Tuesday.
Most of the work on the $2.4 million project will be done from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. daily, but there will be intermittent lane closures during the day until the job is completed about Aug. 31, officials said.
In addition to patching and resurfacing both directions of the drive, the northbound exit ramp and the southbound entrance ramp at 31st Street will be repaired.
