With the increased reports of Columbine copycat threats, perhaps a solution should be to enact a law similar to airport and bank laws. In a bank, if a person says he is going to rob the bank, he gets arrested. At the airports, if a person says he has a bomb, he gets arrested. Apparently this is true even if the person is “joking.”

Given the seriousness of a threat to our children, a person even making a joke about bombing or shooting at a school should be tossed in jail.
