Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

What an absurd coincidence!

On the same day the sports pages report that five Cubs fans were arrested at Wrigley Field for throwing candy bars from the bleachers to celebrate a Henry Rodriguez home run, it is also reported that the Cubs’ No. 1 draft choice is a pitcher known to have purposely thrown a baseball at another player in the on-deck circle trying to intimidate him.

It seems Cubs management wants fans to get arrested for throwing candy bars on the outfield grass to celebrate a good performance, while at the same time they reward a college baseball player who, in a primitive display of intimidation, threw a baseball at high speed toward another human being’s head, resulting in permanent injuries.

What in the world are they thinking?
