The 4th of July holiday is generally one of the deadliest holidays of the year for alcohol-related traffic deaths. In 1998 approximately 60 percent of July 4 traffic deaths were alcohol-related. Picnics often include alcohol as a part of celebrations.
DUI deaths are 100 percent preventable. Here’s how to party safely:
– Don’t overindulge in alcohol; an abundant amount doesn’t make your party better.
– Illegal drugs are not acceptable.
– If you are going to drink, ask yourself before you leave who’s driving.
