The ongoing study of the area surrounding a proposed junction of Interstate Highways 355 and 80 in New Lenox will be discussed at a work session of the village’s Plan Commission Monday.

Consultants are studying the area on the north side of the village where the two highways would link up with a view toward growth and desirable land use.

The plan to extend I-355 from Bolingbrook to New Lenox has stalled while environmental studies are redone, but village officials expect the highway to be a factor in economic development.
