Let’s see if I have this straight after reading the Aug. 1 editorial:
– If I point out that Atlanta-area mass murderer Mark Orrin Barton bludgeoned his wife and children to death rather than shooting them, I am a “sharpie.”
– If I support licensed carry of concealed weapons, I am a “perverter.”
– What we need are “strict, sensible controls on the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns and assault weapons.” Ones that would prevent their acquisition by a suspect in a double murder who had been charge with nothing? This last would require a total and complete ban.
If they gave awards for muddled thinking, the Tribune would win hands down.
