CHICAGO–I want to commend Monica Eng for her article on the ways of the INS (“Immigration — Man,” Aug. 6, 1999). I have spent many hours in line myself helping my husband to become a resident. His visa will expire next year and I really dread going to the INS office to wait in line and file some more paperwork.
I too have experienced hostile treatment from the INS officers and truly believe there is no reason for that. I believe that something should be done to rectify the all the troubles INS is going through.
