People use it to wash clothes, shoes and hairbrushes and even to defrost the Thanksgiving turkey, says a survey by Jenn-Air, a Maytag Appliances brand.
Other items that have gone into dishwashers: Baby toys, yard tools, a computer keyboard, automobile parts and money. They have also been used to steam potatoes, carrots and salmon, and to hard-boil eggs.
