“Supporting global family planning” (Voice of the people, Oct. 12) by Steve Trombley, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood/Chicago Area, is erroneous. The title should have been “Supporting global homicide.”
Let’s face it, the news that we now have some 6 billion people on our planet is causing many people a lot of consternation. Why? Because they are afraid that our quality of life will diminish because now we have to share this world–share our precious resources–with more people. Can anyone say “selfish”?
Planned Parenthood and groups like it have a plan. Let’s just limit the number of people we will “allow” to be born.
Mr. Trombley writes, “History has shown that reproductive freedom is the key to women’s empowerment.” “Reproductive freedom” is a nice euphemism for “abortion.” What kind of truly beneficial empowerment or freedom, either to an individual or a society, can ever be gained at the expense of another person’s life
