Aurora police on Monday charged a man with misdemeanor attempted child abduction and disorderly conduct after an investigation of two alleged abduction attempts.

Charles J. Ortiz, 21, of the 600 block of North May Street, Aurora, who police interviewed Friday, was served a notice to appear in court.

On Oct. 25, Ortiz allegedly pulled his car alongside two 13-year-old girls near Elmwood Drive and Colorado Avenue in Aurora, showed them pornography and made a sexual comment, police said. The girls told him to go away, and he threw the pornography at them and drove off, police said.

On Oct. 20, Ortiz allegedly pulled his car up to the curb on the 800 block of Taylor Avenue and showed a 13-year-old girl and her two friends a fast food bag. The girl and her friends left the area.
