Two men escaped injury Sunday when two other men wearing Halloween masks and carrying bags fired shots at them on the 0-99 block of South Root Street, police said. The victims were standing in front of a home, and the two men wearing the masks were across the street. One of the masked men said, “What’s up,” and both pulled handguns from bags and fired five to seven shots before running off.
