Ken Klee scored the winning goal early in the third period, and Olaf Kolzig made it stick with several acrobatic saves as the Washington Capitals beat New Jersey on Saturday night. The loss knocked the Devils out of first place in the Atlantic Division.
Kolzig made 32 saves, including a couple of amazing ones. In the first period, he dove to his left and thrust his stick in the air to bat away Bobby Holik’s shot. In the third, Kolzig extended his right leg backward to stop Patrik Elias’ breakaway chance.
