A judge Friday set bond at $1.5 million for Carolina Panthers wide receiver Rae Carruth, one of three men charged in the drive-by shooting Nov. 16 of the player’s pregnant girlfriend. Carruth was arraigned Friday morning in Charlotte’s Mecklenburg County District Court. Carruth, 25, the Panthers’ first-round draft choice in 1997, and William E. Watkins, 44, were arrested Thursday. They were charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, attempted murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle. A third man, Michael Kennedy, 24, was arrested Friday morning on the same charges. At the arraignment Friday, Watkins and Kennedy also had bond set at $1.5 million. Cherica Adams, 24, and her baby boy, who was delivered 10 weeks prematurely, remained in critical condition Friday at Carolinas Medical Center.
