Fox Lake has hired Bill Cash for $3,500 to conduct eight training sessions.
“I think this is a good step forward to show that our foremen have been educated,” Trustee Greg Murrey said.
Cash, an associate professor at National-Louis University, was approached by an employee of the village about the training. Cash has done similar work with other governmental bodies, including Lake County.
He is a private consultant with a doctoral degree in communication and an author.
He will present sessions on learning, motivation, communication, listening, dealing with performance problems, managing performance reviews, counseling and hiring.
The sessions are scheduled for January and February.
The contract includes three months of follow-up with department leaders and all materials.
