After several months of discussions with a local developer and area residents, the Itasca Village Board has formally approved a preliminary site plan for a 62-lot subdivision near Thorndale Avenue and Illinois Highway 53.
The site plan for the new Clover Ridge subdivision included a series of 10 zoning variances, which the board informally approved at a meeting last month. The measure passed by a 6-1 vote.
Residents in neighboring areas had attended several plan commission and Village Board meetings to voice opposition to the project.
