Laura Darnell Birg, an associate professor of sociology at St. Xavier University in Chicago, died Monday, Jan. 24, in her Elmhurst home. Mrs. Birg was born in Milwaukee. Survivors include her husband, Herb; a son, Carter; and a daughter, Erika. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until services at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Pedersen-Ryberg Mortuary, 435 N. York St., Elmhurst.
