Raymond “Max” Schuring, 64, of West Dundee died Saturday, Feb. 5, in Sherman Hospital, Elgin. Mr. Schuring, who was born in East Dundee, retired in 1998 after 35 years as a plumber, most recently with Professional Plumbing Inc., Barrington. Mr. Schuring previously worked for Tessendorf Plumbing & Heating in East Dundee and Bessler Plumbing in Hampshire. Mr. Schuring served with the Army in Germany from 1957 to 1959. “He was fun-loving, the life of the party,” said his daughter, Nina Todd. “He had a wonderful sense of humor. Even up to his last moments, he was caring and making us feel good. He was a wonderful grandpa and dad. He was a hard-working plumber who’d help anyone.” Other survivors include his wife of 40 years, Diane; two sons, Gregg and Kurt; three brothers, Wallace, Fred and Richard; six sisters, Ruth Davidson, Dorothy Pedley, Marian Roepke, Betty Bruening, Carol Lindsay and Sally Melahn; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday when a service will begin in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Main and Van Buren Streets, East Dundee.
