Your Feb. 21 editorial “Al Gore’s new master” exposed Mr. Gore as the “candidate of convenience” that he is. When it was convenient to embrace a pro-life stance, he did. When it was convenient to support the National Rifle Association, he did. When his wife crusaded to censor music lyrics, he went along for the publicity. He distances himself from President Clinton, except for fundraising, and now he wants to be an errand boy for the unions, possibly stalling any progress with China and free trade. Who is Mr. Gore? I don’t think we will ever know.
