Richard G. Egger Sr., 71, of Mt. Prospect, died Sunday, Feb. 27, in his home. Mr. Egger, who was born in Evanston, retired in 1986 as an accountant with the former International Minerals and Chemical Co., Mundelein, after 30 years of service. Mr. Egger served with the Navy in the Mediterranean aboard the destroyer USS Compton in the early 1950s. “He was a good husband and father,” said his wife, Leota. Other survivors include three daughters, Mary Stangel, Anne and Laura; three sons, Richard G. Jr., Paul and Thomas; and four grandchildren. A visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., Mt. Prospect and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, when a mass will be said in St. Raymond Catholic Church, Elmhurst Road and Lincoln Street, Mt. Prospect.
