Ralph O. Stopen, 57, of Rolling Meadows, a former longtime resident of St. Charles, died of pneumonia Wednesday, March 1, in Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Mr. Stopen was a residential painter. He was the owner of B&B Drywall and Painting Co. of Rolling Meadows, which he opened this year. Before moving to Rolling Meadows, Mr. Stopen was the owner of Custom Design, a home-painting company in St. Charles. “He was a wonderful, loving husband and father,” said his wife, Barbara. Other survivors include four stepsons, Scott and Todd Stopen and Jeffrey and Kyle Korkos; three daughters, Tammie Weber and Laura Korkos and Melissa Korkos; his father, Adolph; two brothers, Adolph Jr., and James Lunn; two sisters, Lonnie Petrenko and Carol Pearson; and two grandchildren. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Rd., Rolling Meadows.
