Seeing Saw
Colorado goalie Patrick Roy made 19 saves and moved into second place on the NHL’s career victory list as the Avalanche defeated Tampa Bay 4-1 Saturday night. Roy earned his 435th win, snapping a tie with Jacques Plante. He trails only Terry Sawchuk, who has 447 victories.
Welcome back
Eric Lindros returned to the Philadelphia with a goal and an assist Saturday as the Flyers beat Boston 3-0. Lindros missed five games with back injuries. Keith Primeau, who assisted on the Flyers’ first goal, also returned after missing nine games with a broken rib.
Not quite
St. Louis and Florida skated to a 1-1 tie Saturday night, snapping the Blues’ 10-game road-winning streak. A victory would have broken the tie the Blues had with the 1983-84 Buffalo Sabres for most consecutive road wins in NHL history. The Blues last lost on the road against Pittsburgh on Jan. 19.
Rough stretch
New Jersey lost to Vancouver 4-2 Saturday night, losing for the sixth time in eight games. The Devils are tops in the Eastern Conference with 88 points, but are just 1-2 with four games remaining in their seven-game road trip, scoring just four goals.
