Thank you for publishing Steve Chapman’s column about the futile yet cruel sanctions on Iraq. Chapman is 100 percent right about the ineffective sanctions. Not only do they not work to weaken Saddam Hussein, but they are killing the Iraqi people, who are already suffering under his rule.
Let’s find another way to punish Saddam. Cruel sanctions are not the answer.
