Bernard G. Horwat, 61, of Hoffman Estates died Friday, March 3, in Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. Mr. Horwat, who was born in Raciborz, Poland, was an electrical and computer engineer in the cellular subscription division at Motorola Network Systems Solutions, Arlington Heights, for the last 20 years. “He was extremely intelligent and a man of many, many talents,” said his wife, Maria. “He had a very good talent for languages. He spoke five languages. Traveling around the world was not difficult for him. He picked up words in other languages easily. Our home was always filled with stimulating discussions. My husband had a master’s degree in engineering and he educated himself through life.” Other survivors include a son, Waldemar; a daughter, Justyna; and a brother, Werner Musiol. Prayers will be said at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday in Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 330 W. Golf Rd., Schaumburg, followed by a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Hubert Catholic church, 729 Grand Canyon St., Hoffman Estates.
