Peter Lennard-Sperry, 32, of Des Plaines, a plumber, died Sunday, March 5, in Holy Family Medical Center after an apartment fire. Born in Chicago, Mr. Lennard-Sperry was raised in Des Plaines and graduated from Maine West High School there in 1986. He served one year in the Army before he started work as a plumber with his brother, Mark Sperry. They worked at McAvoy & Son Plumbing & Sewer in Des Plaines during the late 1980s before Mr. Lennard-Sperry moved to Arizona for one year. Most recently, Mr. Lennard-Sperry worked for Great Lakes Plumbing in Chicago. “He was always happy,” said his brother. “You never saw him down.” Other survivors include his mother, Frances Kinnumen; a stepfather, Ron Sperry; three sisters, Dawn Sperry, Darlene Lanam and Debbie Hewitt; and his grandmother, Lena Lennard. A visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
