Around the state, article after article has been written exposing corruption of workers in the secretary of state’s office while under the past administration of George Ryan. Some writers have even wildly leaped to suggesting that the governor’s resignation is in order–that an election should be overturned. I think we should all take a deep breath and focus on one of the fundamental elements of American jurisprudence–due process! Gov. Ryan has not been indicted or convicted. He, like all other Americans, should be considered innocent until proven guilty.
