A little more than a year ago, the Republicans in this country were on a moral crusade to take the presidency away from a man they believed to be a moral failure. They impeached him because he lied about sex.
The Republican governor of our state did not directly cause but is ultimately responsible for multiple deaths resulting from accidents caused by incompetent truck drivers who bought their licenses from George Ryan while secretary of state.
Where have the moral Republicans gone? Why hasn’t any prominent Illinois Republican stood up and called for the governor’s resignation? Could it be these folks feel lying about sex is a greater sin than causing the deaths of innocent people? Their silence is an insult to the people of Illinois and a disgrace to their party.
