Rich Parent made 34 saves as Tampa Bay extended its unbeaten streak to three games with a victory over New Jersey, which clinched a playoff spot despite the loss.
Mike Johnson, Fredrik Modin and Todd Warriner scored for Tampa Bay, which won for only the second time at Continental Airlines Arena (2-15-1).
Claude Lemieux scored for the Eastern Conference-leading Devils, who have won only two of their last eight contests (2-5-1). New Jersey was assured of a playoff berth Friday thanks to the Carolina Hurricanes’ 4-2 loss to the Washington Capitals.
