Donald Schubert, 75, of the North Side, a commercial artist and photographer who also worked as a department-store sales associate, died of a stroke Sunday, March 12, at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago. Mr. Schubert graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago in 1949. Shortly after he graduated, Mr. Schubert was employed with Consolidated Book Publishers and Spinn & Associates, both Chicago-area commercial art firms, said his wife, Barbara. He also worked in various departments of Marshall Field’s from 1969 to 1994. “He was very charming, and I say this because he had a magnificent set of values,” Barbara Schubert said. “He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Chicago for 55 years.” Mr. Schubert is also survived by two daughters, Denise Mahmud and Cheryl Eng; a brother, Kenneth; and six grandchildren. Services have been held.
