In response to Michael Hartigan’s March 11 letter about the ridiculously low speed limit on Lake Shore Drive, I would submit that using that same logic, the speed limits on virtually every highway and side road in Illinois and the rest of the country are too low. Try going the speed limit on any road and you will have someone on your back bumper in a heartbeat.
Perhaps we should simply eliminate all speed limits–almost no one obeys them.
