A major cause of so-called road rage is the sloppy driving habits of modern drivers who do not take any pride in their driving. Their self-centered ignorance of their fellow drivers causes them to change lanes without signaling or, in many cases, without even looking to see if the change can be executed safely. These same people fail to stop at stop signs and fail to yield when the law or common sense would dictate. When easily enraged people, of whom there are a legion, see such discourtesy and lawbreaking and lack of concern for those sharing the road with them, small wonder they are tipped over the edge of self-control.
It takes very little effort to come to a complete stop at stop signs, to use turn signals properly, and to be more observant and courteous. The stressed-out drivers who are the victims of thoughtlessness must not bear the entire blame for the road-rage problem.
