Gene L. Johnson, 73, a lifelong resident of Crystal Lake, died Wednesday, March 29, in the Wealshire Alzheimer’s Care Center in Lincolnshire. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Johnson was a sheet-metal worker and a heating and air conditioning service technician for more than 40 years. For 55 years, he was an avid motorcyclist. Survivors include his wife, Milly; three sons, Steve, David and Jim Feffer; a daughter, Terry Feffer Jarka; a sister, Lorraine Kopsell; and three grandchildren. Visitation will begin at noon Saturday until services at 2 p.m. in the Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
