Michael Jordan went one-on-one with each member of the Washington Wizards on Thursday. Only this wasn’t on the court, it was a post-mortem.
The Wizards (29-53) dropped their home finale by 33 points to Boston, then finished with a 110-105 loss Wednesday night to a Milwaukee team playing mostly second-stringers.
Jordan, who became the president of basketball operations and a part-owner Jan. 19, has said he wants to hire a coach within a month–Darrell Walker may return, though he went 15-23 after replacing the fired Gar Heard–and overhaul the front office of an operation that has been run on a shoestring budget.
“Hopefully I will be back,” said guard Mitch Richmond, whose subpar season and $40 million contract make him virtually impossible to deal.
