Conway Farms, a master-planned community of three neighborhoods in Lake Forest, is hosting a Home Show Saturday and Sunday.

The community includes a private 18-hole golf course and a recreation complex with a swimming pool, bathhouse and tennis courts.

The three neighborhoods in the 380-acre development offer five models and three field homes. Lots in the Highlands community are 3/4 of an acre to 1 1/2 acres and are priced from $295,000. Homes range from 4,500 to 6,500 square feet. A 4,500-square-foot spec home with four bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths is open for viewing.

A second neighborhood, Farview Ridge, includes 26 duplex town homes with three to five bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths and up to 3,200 square feet. They include two-story foyers, kitchens with islands, great rooms, two-story dining room, masonry fireplaces and basements, and are base-priced from $765,000.

The Courts at Conway Farms comprises 50 single-family, maintenance-free homes. They range from 2,400 to 3,100 square feet with three bedrooms and are base-priced from $525,000 to $589,000.

To visit, take Interstate Highway 94 to Illinois Highway 60, go east a half-mile to the entrance.

From the entrance, Conway Farms lot sales are a quarter-mile and to the left. Farview Ridge is a half-mile on the right and The Courts is past Farview Ridge on the left.

– Phase I and II sales are under way at Village Green of East Dundee, an independent-living center with 90 condominiums by Windsor Development Corp.

All Phase I condominiums have been built and 15 are available for immediate occupancy.

Models of the two floor plans include a 1,000-square-foot first-floor plan with two bedrooms and two baths and a one-bedroom, one-bath unit with 750 square feet. They are base-priced from $139,900 to $164,900 and include kitchens, baths and extra-wide hallways.

A monthly service fee covers meal service, utilities, scheduled transportation services, and use of a library, hair salon, game room, “necessity” store and exercise center. Fees also cover use of the private dining room, wellness room, on-site banking facilities, mail station, 24-hour controlled access and an emergency response system.

Village Green is located on Barrington Avenue between Dundee Township Public Library and Dundee Township Park District Recreation Center in northwest suburban East Dundee.

– The Buck City Lofts, a development of 79 timber-beam lofts, is open for preview at 1740 N. Maplewood Ave. in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood.

The four-story brick building is being developed by Dubin Residential. The first deliveries are scheduled for early 2001.

Floor plans offer one or two bedrooms, some with dens, and one or two baths. They range from 830 to 1,930 square feet of living space.

Eight two-bedroom-plus-den duplex units and two triplexes also are planned. Pre-construction base prices range from the high $140,000s to the low $300,000s.

The units include large windows, exposed beams, brick walls and duct work, hardwood floors and 12-foot ceilings.

The development will have a common roof deck and garage and outdoor parking for 100 cars. Parking is priced at $13,000 for an indoor space and $7,000 for outside.

The sales center, at 1733 N. Rockwell Ave., a block and a half north of North Avenue and two blocks west of Western Avenue, is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday through Wednesday. For information, call 773-862-3000.

– Dior Builders Inc. opened its third and final phase at Glencrest of Inverness, a 190-acre community of 78 semi-custom homes on lots spanning one to eight acres.

There are 31 one- to four-acre lots in the final phase offering city sewer and water services. The new phase also has two lakes, a 17-acre conservancy area and high, rolling terrain suitable for walkout basements. A few sites are wooded and others overlook a conservancy area.

Prices start at $839,000, including lot, for a home typically 4,000 square feet. Dior will also build from outside plans or help buyers draw plans from scratch. First occupancies are expected in early fall.
