I wish to express my thanks and appreciation to Commonwealth Edison and the City of Highland Park for their swift response to the storm on May 18. Both swung into immediate action to begin clearing and repairing the immense damage to the area. It was incomprehensible to view the number of broken trees, snapped power poles and downed lines caused by the fury of Mother Nature.

Within hours, crews were out clearing the debris so that ComEd could have access to the damaged areas. Crews were brought in from all over the Midwest to aid in these repairs.

In past times, these men would have been regarded as heroes, and I believe they deserve that recognition again.
