The following Printers Row Book Fair advice comes from direct experience: Don’t show up at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, or the only remaining books will be thin volumes like Rush Limbaugh’s “Silence” or Bill Clinton’s “Abstinence.” But for more adept weekend planners, the 16th annual fair is a cornucopia of literary riches — thousands of new and used books on sale from 170 retailers. Plus, well-known authors give readings: Adam Cohen and the Tribune’s Elizabeth Taylor, from “American Pharaoh — Richard J. Daley: His Battle for Chicago and the Nation”; the Tribune’s Bob Greene, from “Duty: A Father, His Son and the Man Who Won the War”; Sarah Paretsky, from “Hard Time”; and June Jordan, from “Soldier: A Poet’s Childhood.” The sprawling, free event begins at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday on South Dearborn Street between Congress Parkway and Polk Street. 312-987-9896.
