Robert H. Nordstrom, 84, of Ft. Collins, Colo., a former resident of Palatine, died Monday, March 6, in Ft. Collins. Born in Chicago, Mr. Nordstrom served in the Army Air Forces during World War II. He was based in Saipan in the South Pacific. After the war, Mr. Nordstrom worked as a service manger for dairy equipment at Cherry-Burrell Corp. in Chicago. He retired in the 1970s and moved to Arkansas. He had lived in Colorado since 1990. “He was an unbelievable man,” said his son in-law Topper Burke, who added that Mr. Nordstrom raised his two daughters after his first wife died in 1961. Mr. Nordstrom is also survived by his two daughters, Debby Corliss and Beverly; a brother, Leroy; and three grandchildren. A memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2501 E. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights.
