Michael Ruffalo has been selected as principal of the Summit Hill School District 161’s new kindergarten to 4th grade school, which is scheduled to open at the beginning of the 2001-02 school year.
Ruffalo has served as physical education teacher at the Orland Hills Christian School, a teacher in Orland Park School District 135 and a junior high assistant principal in Alsip.
Currently, he is principal at Parkview Elementary School in Steger.
Summit Hill Supt. Julian Rogus said Ruffalo would use the coming school year to recruit a faculty for the new school, coordinate formation of a parent/teacher organization for the new school and supervise final preparations for the opening of the building.
“Mr. Ruffalo will also organize activities to orient students and parents to the new facility before the facility opens,” Rogus said.
