Joseph A. Seno, 88, a former laborer with Commonwealth Edison Co. and a longtime accordion player on the North Side who was the victim of a hit-and-run accident on Jan. 31, died Thursday, June 1, in Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, of complications related to the accident. He enjoyed visiting with friends in his long retirement. He walked with a cane since suffering a stroke in the mid-1990s, but prided himself on his longevity in the Galewood neighborhood, knowing many of its inhabitants by name. Mr. Seno was also a former accordion player, performing with a three-piece group in North Side legion halls and taverns from the 1930s through the 1950s. “He enjoyed people dancing and laughing and having a few drinks,” said his son, Raymond. In addition to his son, Mr. Seno is survived by a daughter, Virginia Horan; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Salerno Galewood Chapel, 1857 N. Harlem Ave., Chicago. Mass will be said at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 2250 N. McVicker Ave.
