As the wife of a Navy veteran who served in the South Pacific, I watched the Memorial Day celebrations with great pride. I had worked in the boot camp at Great Lakes and saw thousands of our young men prepare to serve their country. We can only wonder how many returned from World War II. My day was filled with joy until I watched that draft dodger from the White House. How can he have the nerve to place a wreath and ask for a moment of silence? Those dead and wounded servicemen never fled to England to avoid their duties.
