Pedro M. Suacillo, 91, of Woodridge, a retired psychiatric nurse, died Tuesday, May 30, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. A native of the Philippines, Mr. Suacillo immigrated to the United States in 1961, originally settling in a suburb of Newark, N.J. “He wanted to raise his family in the Midwest, so after coming to this country he began applying to hospitals in Chicago to find work,” said his daughter, Cindy Rivera. “He wanted more open space and a slower pace of life.” Mr. Suacillo graduated from San Juan De Dios Hospital/University in the Philippines. He retired from Chicago Reed Hospital in 1984, after 14 years of service, and also worked at Cook County Hospital from 1964 to 1970. Prior to moving to Woodridge in 1995, he lived in Naperville and Bolingbrook. Other survivors include his wife, Adoracion, whom he married in 1940; two sons, Reynald and Edgar; a daughter, Marilyn Villanueva; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Scholastica Catholic Church, 7800 Janes Ave., Woodridge.
