The school lunch program has grown and gotten many children to buy lunch at school rather than bringing it from home. It is a great convenience for many children. Every child should be given this convenience and opportunity.

Unfortunately everyone is not.

Vegetarians have a very limited selection in the school lunch program. Most main items contain meat. For a child to have a healthy meal, it should be nutritious. Vegetarians can only get side dishes that are of less nutrition than main meals.

Pizza is an extremely popular food for vegetarians, but to have that every day? It is not healthy. They should have varieties to choose from.

More vegetarian meals can be made to serve those who are vegetarian, or even those who do not want meat in their lunch that day.
