John Kass fails to appreciate the underside of the National Rifle Association (“Did Rosie flip-flop on guns? That’s a loaded question,” News, June 1). If he had checked more thoroughly with the subject of his scorn, he might have realized that Rosie O’Donnell and her children need more protection now because of threats against them made by pro-gun advocates.

Her main goal, along with millions of other gun-control advocates, is to achieve some regulation in an industry that is totally unregulated.

Unfortunately, in their zeal for everyone to carry concealed weapons, gun advocates have not shied away from using their influence to threaten their opponents and to do everything in their power, legal or not, to make it easier for anyone to purchase guns.
