Dorothy E. Biermann, 72, of Arlington Heights, a homemaker, died Wednesday, May 31, in her home. “She was probably the best mother anybody could have,” said her daughter Kathy Rowley. “I always tried to be like her. She was a good role model as a mother and a nice, sweet person. She sacrificed a lot to raise five of her seven children by herself after my dad [the late George E.] died when he was 42. She never remarried, never dated,” her daughter added. “She had a good sense of humor, a wonderful personality and the most beautiful smile you’d ever want to see.” Mrs. Biermann was a former resident of Rolling Meadows. Survivors include three more daughters, Peggy Milbratz, Jill Lawson and Tammy Wood; three sons, Scott, George and Tom; two sisters, Margaret Ellis and Betty Winkelman; a brother, Tom Ferner; 23 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Evergreen Cemetery, 610 S. Dundee Ave., Barring-ton.
