Remember Esperanto? The would-be “universal language” created to bridge the communication gap between all cultures? Esperanto’s inventors could’ve saved themselves a lot of effort by using an already universal language: dance. That’s what Chicago’s Deeply Rooted Productions has been doing for years, and this spring’s performances carry on their tradition with “MOVE: A Deeply Rooted Evening of Dance.” The African-American company’s new work explores the soul’s spiritual journey of self-discovery through the complex interactions of contemporary human experience. 8 p.m. Thursday and June 16 at the DePaul Merle Reskin Theater, 60 E. Balbo. $25-$60. 312-922-1999.
