Muslim rebels, fearing a military raid, have moved 10 foreign hostages to a new hiding place in the southern Philippine jungle, negotiators said Saturday.

The Abu Sayyaf rebels, who have been holding 21 hostages, also said they will no longer talk to chief government negotiator Robert Aventajado, who suggested the government might consider a military rescue if talks for the hostages’ release broke down.

“We strongly condemn him for such irresponsible statements,” the rebels said.
