– Lexington-Lake Zurich Health Care Facilities, a nursing home at 900 S. Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, uses volunteers for activities and other patient services. Call 847-726-1200.
– New Perspectives, 760 McHenry Rd., Wheeling, an Alzheimer’s residential facility, needs volunteers of any age (children must have supervision, families welcome) to socialize with patients, share musical and other talents, assist with crafts and other activities; may bring pets. Call 847-465-2975.

– The Wealshire, an Alzheimer’s residential facility, 150 Jamestown Lane, Lincolnshire, needs volunteers high school age and up to socialize with residents and assist them in activities. Call 847-883-9000.
