Agnes “Bridget” Durkan, 99, a homemaker and longtime resident of Villa Park who never lost her Irish brogue or the love of her ancestral home, died Sunday, June 18, in Lexington Health Care Center in Lombard. “She was a very funny woman with a quick wit,” said her granddaughter Lynn Kirtchoff. Mrs. Durkan was born in Westport, County Mayo, and moved to America in her mid-20s. Mrs. Durkan was a masterful crocheter, her granddaughter said. Other survivors include a daughter, Peggy Crotty; six other grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Rd., Lombard, followed by mass at 11:30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 134 Arthur St., Elmhurst.
