Following is a list of events taking place in Woodridge through the rest of the year.

June 26: Woodridge Rotary Club’s Ladies Captive Classic. Fundraiser for breast cancer research; Rotary members will auction themselves to caddy for ladies’ golf outing. Village Greens Golf Course, 1575 W. 75th St. 11:30 a.m., with golfing beginning at 1 p.m. 630-985-3610.

June 28: Woodridge Park District Summer Concert series debuts at the Town Centre with big band music and swing dancing. Woodridge Town Centre Plaza, intersection of Centre and Plaza Drives. Dance instruction at 6 p.m., Big Band music at 7 p.m. 630-964-2100.

July 4: 4th of July Picnic. Hot dogs 25 cents, beer 50 cents, also ice cream, pop, popcorn, music and door prizes. Castaldo Park, 71st Street west of Woodridge Drive. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 630-719-4901.

July 4: Fireworks display. Ziegfield Troy Golf Course, 1515 W. 75th St., Woodridge. Joint effort by villages of Woodridge, Westmont, Darien and Downers Grove. 9:30 p.m., with people assembling earlier. Music to be broadcast over WDGC-FM 88.3. 630-719-4905.

July 8 and Sept. 2: Jive-N-Dive Concert Series. A band performs before audience floating in water. Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park, 8301 Janes Ave., 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Fee: $6 for residents, $9.50 for non-residents. 630-985-5620.

July 15: Flick-N-Float. Watch movie on 25-foot screen while floating on tube in main pool. Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park, 8301 Janes Ave. Fee: $2 per season pass holder or ID card holder; $4 for non-residents. 8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. 630-985-5620.

July 31-Aug. 4, Aug. 7-Aug. 11, Aug. 14-18: Rocky Saganiuk’s PRO 7 Summer Hockey School. Seven Bridges Ice Arena, 6690 S. Illinois Highway 53. Aug. 5: All-Village Garage Sale. Free entertainment, face painting, balloon artists, food booths. Echo Point Park, Woodridge Drive and Briarwood Court. Free admission, booth rates vary. 630-964-2100.

Aug. 5: Good Ole Family Fun Days. Wacky games, dive contests, penny candy, ice cream, and discounted hot dogs and popcorn. Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park, 8301 Janes Ave. Residents: $6, non-residents: $9.50. Noon to 5 p.m. 630-985-5620.

Aug. 13: 1st annual Woodridge Rotary Mini-Triathlon. Five pool laps, 6 miles biking, 2 miles running. $21 to participate. Fundraiser for college scholarships. Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park, 8301 Janes Ave. 7 a.m. to noon. 630-769-0707.

Aug. 25: Back to School Bash. Students and civic organizations are planning entertainment and food. Woodridge Town Centre Plaza, intersection of Centre and Plaza Drives. 630-719-4705.

Sept. 15-16: Third annual Oktoberfest. Service organizations provide music, food booths, beer garden, bingo, raffle, and children’s activities such as moon walk, face painting and a magician. Tickets: $5 in advance, $7 at the gate. Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park, 8301 Janes Ave. 5:30 to 11 p.m. both nights. 630-985-3200.

Sept. 24 (first in a series): Chicago Lyric Opera Lectures. The Chicago Lyric Opera Education Department delivers a series of 90-minute lectures on operas, composers and the historical period in which the operas occur. Oct. 1: Ninth Annual Indian Summer Fest. Miniature golf, pony rides, obstacle course, face painting, “build your own scarecrow,” hay rides. Free admission, parking at Community Center.
