This is in response to “Boy, 9, drowns in Park District construction pit” (Metro, June 19), about the tragic death of the boy on a construction site on the West Side.

The following is a quote from the article: “They should have something that blocks it so you can’t see what’s there,” said Arlene Jones, president of the LaFollette Park Advisory Council. “It shouldn’t have taken a child to die.”

Are you kidding me?

The children crawled under a fence. Why weren’t they being supervised?

I am so sick of people passing the blame.

No one wants to take responsibility for anything.

It’s unfortunate if I offended anyone with this letter, but hey, that’s not my fault.
